Recommendation for Your Local City:
I have been a member of YLC for over two years, and have seen it grow dramatically. The reason for the growth is simple: it works!
As a small business owner with little marketing funds or time, I have to use my resources wisely. YLC has proven to be an outstanding return on my investment; it now accounts for about 50% of my new business, mainly through networking with other members and attending the numerous trade shows and events put on by YLC. Plus, I’ve been able to build up a “Master Mind” set of trusted fellow professionals that I can refer my clients to as their services or products are needed. I’ve also enjoyed developing my networking and public speaking skills as a Your Local City Ambassador.
The owners, Tonya and Michael Hofmann are always striving for ways to improve the benefits of membership. They truly “get” networking and are passionate about helping their members grow their businesses and develop personally and professionally.
I highly recommend membership in Your Local City to anyone who needs outstanding value and results from their marketing efforts!

I just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for creating YourLocalCity. It has been a great venue for opening my eyes to ways to not only build my own business, but to participate in building the businesses of people that I have come to know and like. It is a great community of entrepreneurs.
All of the Ambassadors that I have met do a great job. Penny and Ron have really gone the extra mile to help me and I just wanted to give them a special kudo. Of all the groups I attend I think that Penny does a remarkable job of preparing something that will make us think about business and personal improvement and I always walk away from her meetings with something that I can use, besides the networking opportunity.
Thanks again for all you do.

Just a quick note for you, Tonya. I made a lot of decisions in 2009 that have effected my business and my life in ways I didn't foresee. One of those was to get involved with YLC again. I'm a better person for it. My business is a better business for it. And, oh yeah, the whole cruise thing.. that's better too.
What you do is very difficult and I know there are hard days when things just aren't working that make you wonder if it is worth it.
Just wanted you to know that I'm better off, my company and the 8 people it supports is better off, and the people I've met, supported and received help from are all better off because you are relentless in your efforts.
On this eve of 2010 I feel better about Friendly Computers, about myself, about this community and the people with whom I interact than I have since we started in 2005. A lot of credit for that goes to you. So hang on to that and pull it out the next bad day you have. It is going to be a great year. The rising tide will float all the YLC boats including the Voyager of the Seas 38 days from now.

Before Your Local City, I would not be caught consorting with the "enemy" as I called them. Anyone that did the same thing in business as I did was view as a threat to me. Either they were trying to steal my customers or learn my secrets. Thanks to Your Local City, I've learn to embrace them as an ally rather than an enemy. There are several YLC members that do similar business as I do, and in some form or another have referred business my way, either it was something they could not handle or maybe a conflict of personalities. None the less the fact that they thought of me first means a lot to me. Now instead of turning a customer away because I don't sell the product they need, I refer them to one of my Your Local City allies. My customer appreciated that I cared enough to refer them to a trusted business rather than just giving up, and guess what?... the world kept turning!
Thank you Michael & Tonya for allowing me to see the difference for myself.

Your Local City has been the foundation of my speaking practice in Austin. As someone who moved here from Dallas it was difficult to connect with the the Austin small business community. Since discovering YLC, I have booked several speaking engagements via connections made at YLC networking events as well as developed several partnering opportunities. I have recommended YLC to many of my colleagues.

I had a 1 on 1 with Valerie a couple of months ago. I was impressed with her professionalism and with the details she provided about her company. As a passing thought, I remember thinking that it was too bad Avery Ranch already awarded a painting contract previously to another contractor to paint the miles of fencing in Avery Ranch. If I would have met her sooner, perhaps I could have gotten her company to provide a quote. Anyways, at our next board meeting where we discuss contractor issues, the topic of painting came up. I asked our property manager if he was still accepting painting quotes. To my surprise he said yes. At that point I told him I would like to have the Texas Painting Company submit a quote. I gave him Valerie's contact information and said she would call to set up a time to meet with him. Consequently, she met with him and submitted a quote and was awarded an initial contract for $18,000. If they do a good job, they can potentially get the rest of the contract worth up to $175,000 or so. It's gets better though, because Avery Ranch will be painting sections of the fencing yearly, so this could become a multi year opportunity for the Texas Painting Company.

How are you? Hope all is well. I met with you about 6 months ago just before the ambassador training session to talk about the YLC website and introduce myself. I wanted to drop a line and let you know that over the last 2 months I have received two strong leads directly from your website and their total project value (if won) would be $53000.
I highly appreciate your hard work for connecting us with potential clients in this slow economic market.
Best regards,

If you haven't looked into "Your Local City.Com", you should really do so. It is the BEST e-chamber and referral network I have come to be associated with in the past 23 years in the insurance business.

Your Local City has truly been an asset to the growth in my business. From the very beginning Your Local City helped me advertise and market my business on a much more efficient scale. It also allowed me to find and connect with other professionals in the area. Your Local City has a solid foundation and is built on solid principles – helping small to medium size businesses grow. Your Local City not only has helped me grow, meet new professionals in my area, but it really allowed me to solidify myself and my business in my marketplace. I will always be thankful and loyal to Your Local City.

I just want to say thank you for getting me linked into Your Local City. I can’t say enough about how impressed I have been by Your Local City. The promotion of my business has far exceeded what local Chambers of Commerce has provided. Being involved in the network breakfasts has provided multiple opportunities for me to meet with other businesses and has resulted in several job opportunities I might have missed. Your Local City provides the best combination of affordable networking events and internet promotion.

We've been involved with Your Local City for two years and have found their web site to be an excellent source for leads. Also, their active involvement in networking and events throughout the community has provided additional dividends for our involvement. I would heartily recommend Your Local City to any small business. Jack GrafiusMinuteman Press Your Local City has provided an incredible format and gathering for my business. The attraction it has to new business owners and professionals gives a great opportunity for me as a Business Coach to find clients and provide referrals.

I am writing this letter to strongly recommend to you the services of Tonya Hofmann and Your Local City. I have found Tonya to be a smart, enthusiastic, energetic and very creative marketer. The concept of Your Local City is an excellent example of her talents. To have an online presence at such a reasonable fee is an opportunity that all small business should take advantage of. Additionally, all small business owners should take full advantage of the ability and opportunity to support one another that is offered through Your Local City. This firm has been retained by several very good clients through the efforts of Your Local City. We cannot recommend her to you too highly.

I cannot thank Tonya Hofmann of Your Local City enough for promoting my services through networking groups, trade shows and the YLC website. The exposure has directly accounted for multiple new clients. My business relies on networking and building relationships. YLC gets my name out there for all prospective clients to see. Tonya proactively recommends all YLC members in an effort to generate relationships, and sales, for each. This “rely-on-your-neighbor” concept is not new, yet Tonya has mastered the networking aspect of local marketing to improve the system. Tonya gets the word out about my business.
When I signed on with Your Local City, I thought I was getting a nice, big, flexible ad on the YLC website that had a link to my website. And I did get that, but I also got a lot more. I found that YLC offered numerous networking opportunities. My favorite is the Friday morning group in Round Rock, but I have been to others and liked them, too. The monthly luncheon has great speakers and a new crowd to network with. YLC's Big Boss requires everyone to "be nice"--who can argue with that? Also, YLC has represented my business at a LOT of events, expos, and trade shows over the years. All I have to do is provide the YLC ambassadors with brochures and business cards--and I usually offer a drawing too--and they do the rest! I feel like I have my own personal spokesperson just for my business! Thank you, Your Local City!
